Nagpur, Jan 25: A local court on Tuesday restrained the release of Bollywood film ‘Agneepath' on January 26 with the song ‘teri meri kahani adhoori' on the plea of a city engineer who claimed the song was written and sung by him.

The engineer, Aditya Salankar, had filed a complaint against Karan Johar's Dharma Productions, which has produced ‘Agneepath', an action thriller which is a remake of the 1990 Hindi film of the same name.

District Judge P Ganediwala granted temporary injunction against exhibiting, promoting or releasing the song in CD form or in the movie till Johar or his production company appears before the court.

The court noticed striking similarity between the lyrics composed by Salankar and those used by the filmmaker.  Salankar had obtained a copyright certificate for the song way back in March 2009. Later, he recorded the song in his own voice, the court was informed.

‘Agneepath' features Sanjay Dutt, Hrithik Roshan and Priyanka Chopra, among others.
