Mumbai, Oct 16: Maulana Hafeez Nadeem Siddiqui, president of Jamiatul Ulema of Maharashtra today said, Tuesday's wedding between Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor cannot be termed as “shaadi”, and not even “nikaah” (marriage). The Maulana said, the religions of Saif and Kareena are different, and if Saif Ali Khan calls himself a Muslim, then he should marry according to Muslim personal law, and if he does not do this, it will be considered as “aiyaashi ka adda” (bestial lust). The Maulana said, If Kareena Kapoor has to marry Saif, then she should first accept Islam, but the wedding that would be taking place tomorrow is nothing “but a joke”. “We cannot call it a marriage according to the tenets of Islam”, he said. Criminal Lawyer Eijaz Naqvi said, if Kareen Kapoor wants to stap claim to membership of the trust or in Nawab Pataudi's property, then she will have to accept Islam. “But if she does not want to stake claim on Saif's property, then there is the Special Marriage Act under which she could marry as per law, and there is no need for her to change her religion”, said Naqvi.
