Mumbai, Feb 25: The Mumbai police on Friday night swung into action and stopped the birthday party of actor Shahid Kapoor which was being celebrated at the Olive pub in Khar on grounds of sound pollution, police said.
Shahid had invited noted Bollywood stars to his birthday party which included Rani Mukerjee, Karan Johar, Anil Kapoor, Sonam, Satish Kaushik and Riteish Deshmukh.
While Shahid Kapoor claims that he had taken permission for holding the party till 3 am, the police came in at 2 am, following complaint from a local citizen about the loud sound decibels. The party was stopped at 2.30 am and most of the Bollywood stars left for their homes.
Bapuram Mukhelkar, police inspector of Khar police station, said if sound pollution law has been violated, action will be taken against the party organisers.
