New Delhi: Gurgaon came to a standstill on Wednesday as crowds of people poured in for the premiere of Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh's MSG 2 The Messenger. The special screening of the movie was held at Lesiure Valley Park in the city.
The turnout was estimated by the Gurgaon police chief to be one lakh. That is far above the existing Guinness record for the largest crowd at a movie screening. The record is held by the US movie Honor Flight, which was watched by 28,442 people in Wisconsin in 2012.
It's not clear if MSG 2's record will be certified by the Guinness Book of World Records, since there is no precise figure available. Moreover, the screening was not completed because rain played spoilsport about halfway into the movie.

But MSG 2 has already achieved all the publicity it wanted. Now, it remains to be seen whether this will have a positive effect at the box office when it releases on September 18.
The first film in the series, MSG, was a dud. It was declared a 'disaster' by the website Box Office India and many critics gave it a 0/5 rating. It's hard to do worse than zero, so the only direction MSG 2 can go is up!
