Hyderabad: Telugu comedian M.S. Narayana, who had over 750 films to his credit, passed away Friday due to kidney-related ailments, family sources said. The last rites will be performed at his farmhouse Saturday.

Narayana, 63, was undergoing treatment at the Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) here.

"The last rites will take place tomorrow (Saturday) at his farmhouse in Vikarabad," a family source told IANS.

On Thursday, doctors at KIMS performed dialysis on Narayana, who was later put on ventilator support. The veteran comedian started his career as a writer.

Some of his best films include "Indra", "Sontam", "Dookudu" and "Shivamani". He had penned dialogues for films such as "Alexander" and had also directed "Bhajantrilu" and "Koduku".
