So finally there is a flick, which will provide a necessary break from the action drama running since last two weeks. But does it really have that stamina to divert the flow of the moviegoers towards itself. I doubt over that.

Mr. Joe B Carvahlo, which spills the beans on its pronunciation itself, splits you in tears with its usual monotonous content. What we have is a detective Joe B Carvahlo (Arshad Warsi), who dreams to become a James Bond but ends up into a buffoon agent. The other we have is a Dabangg female Insp. Shantipriya Phadnis (Soha Ali Khan) turning stripper. At last there is an international terrorist Carlos (Jaaved Jaffrey) who himself is flummoxed over his intention.
Of course, we are supposed to flex our facial muscles over the characters and situations arising out of them. But we have to search those opportunities which are hardly made available to us. Mr. Joe is given a case to find Khuranna's (Shakti Kapoor) daughter who has fled to Goa while Phandis is handed over the case to trap Carlos whom she misjudges with Mr. Joe. There is another team who also wants to kill Carlos and so follows many misconfusions that lead you to nowhere in the end. So, how the two investigating officers converge through both the cases, director Samir Tewari narrates this torturous and non-influential case study.
This investigation doesn't require your wits to run, which perceptibly isn't allowed here but what it should have required is left out by far. The storyline has nothing to be related to the authenticity and the plot is ruined badly. We don't go into the technicalities of the flick as pointing those in the flick would be like dishonouring the cinematic rules. What we go into is the humour factor which is all that matters in the end. Here the flick has its control but not for long. The jokes fall flat at numerous occasion and those which has the required zeal are backed up with a feeble situation.
More than any other actor it's the chemistry between Arshad and Soha which brings out some light-hearted moments. You know that its ridiculous but you chortle for a moment among them includes Soha's seducing sessions with Arshad. The other supporting actors like Javed Jaffery, Vijay Raaz, Vrajesh Hirjee aren't able to push the momentum to a descent level as was expected and we sadly have to say that it's their talent goes waste. Jaaved Jaaferi's innumerable looks try hard to chuckle you but we recommend them to be shown to KG kids who may better decide the level of such humour. Soha Ali Khan gives an honest performance in this flick but there is a feeling that she loves doing supervision roles as her last act in 'War Chod Na Yaar' required the similar monitoring.
Arshad Warsi gives a good performance but this time he fails to create the same witty situations. Music by Amartya Rahut has nothing extraordinary. I'll go with one and half stars for Mr. Joe b Carvalhoe which effortlessly grants yet another week for already blockbuster Dhoom 3. One last thing! What was the need of the one sec cameo appearance for Kunal Khemu and why was one of the renowned singers (reveling the name won't make a difference) roped in as a contract killer?
