Indore, Jul 10: Expressing his anger over the filthy language used in Hindi films and vulgar scenes on television, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that things have reached a stage that one cannot even watch a news channel along with family.
Hinting at Aamir Khan's films like ‘Delhi Belly' and ‘Peepli Live', he said that sometime back he was about to watch a film having a song on rising inflation (Mehngayee Dayan). “But I was warned that the film has objectionable dialogues.”
“Now, recently a film was released, about which it is said that it has nothing but abuses,” Chouhan said here last night addressing the Centennial function of the Madhya Bharat Hindi Sahitya Samiti.
Referring to the news channels, he said “they carry lot of obscene scenes and advertisements. I got shocked. Situation is such that you cannot even watch a news channel along with your family.”
Meanwhile, Chouhan also offered to host World Hindi Conference and said that the government was ready to complete all formalities in this regard.
He said that countries like China, Japan and Italy give lot of importance to their own language, but in India despite making lot of efforts, Hindi was not able to get the status of a national language in real sense. PTI
