The producers and directors are lining up for him as his name adds to the credibility of a film. The urge of watching a movie increases if it has Nawaz Bhai in it. Be it the menacing 'Laik' of ‘Badlapur' or endearing 'Chand Nawab' of‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan', Sidiqqui knows his way into the heart of the audience and critics as well.
But this success has come to the ‘Gangs of Wasseypur' actor after years of struggle and hardship. He had to struggle for as many as 12 years to finally make a mark in this industry. Yes, that's right! Nawaz started out with roles as short as 40-seconds. His dedication towards the craft and constant hard-work has brought him today to this position.
The actor has once said, “I have seen it all in the industry. There were days when I wanted to quit but did not know anything other than acting so I stayed. The struggle was long but there were good people around me like Aamir and Anurag, who believed in me and told me to stick around.”

1- Sarfarosh – This film marked the debut of Nawaz in Bollywood. He appeared in a 40-second role as a criminal who gets arrested in Victoria house raid in this Aamir Khan starrer.
2- Munna Bhai M.B.B.S. – He played a pocket-picker in this Rajkumar Hirani directed film and went completely un-noticed by the audiences.
3- Aaja Nachle – This come-back film of Madhuri Dixit featured Nawazuddin as one of her servant.
4- Ek Chaalis Ki Last Local – He played the role Ponnappa's brother in this critically acclaimed film that starred Abhay Deol and Neha Dhupia in lead roles.
5- New York – He gave a memorable performance in a 2-minute scene in this Kabir Khan directed film. He appeared as a victim of FBI's torture after 9/11 attacks. Many people did notice him in this one.
6- Dev D – Although the song ‘Emotional Attyachar' became a super-hit but people didn't notice Nawaz as one of the band singer in the song.
