Meenakshi's elder brother Dr Shekhar Sheshadri is a psychiatrist and stays in Bangalore. He was prepared for an off-camera interview where he revealed several facts about the Bollywood star.
Born in 1964 with the name Shashikala, the name Meenakshi was given to her by actor-producer Manoj Kumar. Her first film at the age of 18 was Painter Babu in 1982.
