Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh government on Tuesday accorded tax free status to two more Bollywood films "Jaanisaar" and "Masaan".
The decision was taken at a cabinet meeting presided over by Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav.
"Masaan" had been shot in Varanasi and directed by Anuraag Kashyap. "Jaanisaar", starring a Pakistani actor, has been directed by Muzaffar Ali.
The Samajwadi Party government has been promoting film shooting in the state under a new policy.
Few days back, Salman Khan's Bajrangi Bhaijaan was also made tax free in the state after the movie's director Kabir Khan met the Chief Minister with the request.
The state has made many films tax-free in the past. These include “Tevar”, “Miss Tanakpur Haazir Ho” and “Hamari Adhuri Kahani”.
