Three years after performing an item number 'Honth Rasile' (WELCOME - 2007), Malaika Arora would be putting her dancing shoes again for a Bollywood film, says a media report. Malaika does that for the film Dabangg which is produced by her hubby Arbaaz Khan. Incidentally this is for the first time that Malaika would be appearing in an item song for a home production even as Arbaaz, Sohail and Salman have been making films for quite a few years now.
A source said, "Yes, Malaika has appeared in this fun dance number which is going to be a highlight of DABANGG. Salman too would be making an appearance in the song though it is not clear whether he would be dancing along with Malaika or not."
The song has a tantalizing title that goes as 'Munni Badnaam Hui', hence giving a clear indication that it would be set in the heartland of India and would have a raunchy touch to it. Sajid-Wajid, regulars with Salman Khan after giving music in films like VEER, WANTED, PARTNER, MUJHSE SHAADI KAROGI and TERE NAAM, have composed for DABANGG while Jalees Sherwani has written the lyrics.
One hopes though for Malaika's sake that she actually has something substantial to show in 'Munni Badnaam Hui' which is bound to be in news due to people involved. In the recent past, Malaika hasn't quite delivered as much as her fans would have expected. She had a miniscule role in HOUSEFULL (which almost went unnoticed), her PREM KAA GAME was a commercial disaster with absolutely no takers to it while her acting part in EMI didn't find much appreciation either.
"She would strike big though with 'Munni Badnaam Hui'", the source says in a confident tone, "She is back into the kind of zone that her audience want her to be. Rest assured, DABANGG would have a lot going in its favour once her dance number is revealed. Stay tuned."Directed by first timer Abhinav Kashyap, DABANGG marks the debut of Sonakshi Sinha as the leading lady. The film releases all over on 10th September.
