New Delhi: While the entire nation is divided over the ‘intolerance' debate, there is one Bollywood family which is setting example for the country. We are talking about the family of the superstar Salman Khan which is a pool of talented people.
At a recent interview with fashion designer Pria Kataaria Puri, the daughter in law of the family Malaika Arora Khan said that she is lucky to be a part of the Khan family. Malaika was seen in a candid chat on Pria's talk show, Malaika said she is happy being a part of such multi-religious family.
“The children have been brought up in just the same open-minded atmosphere as us. We have brought up our son in the same way. He has the right to choose what religion he wants to practice, the faith you follow... It's up to him whether he wants to visit a mosque, church or temple. We just want him to grow up to be a good human. We believe in the power of prayer, a sense of connecting with a higher force. But that's all. We celebrate every festival with the same fervor and respect. As long as we instil good values in our son, it's fine,” she said.

She also mentioned the equation she shares with her husband's parents. “They are not the sort to impose anything on anyone. They wouldn't do it to their children or their children's spouses kid's respective spouses. In fact, they have always been very encouraging and supportive. Every time I would do a song, my mother-in-law and my father-in-law say, ‘Beta, you are looking very nice, you've danced so well'. So it's never been a point of concern or issue.”
Arbaaz Khan, Malaika's husband was also praised by her. “I don't think I could have blossomed or flourished the way I have, had it not been for him. Arbaaz let me be. He literally gave me wings. And that's wonderful. It helps one grow beautifully,” said a blushing Malaika.
