1. “Sooraj (Barjatya) didn't approach me. I approached him. There were three different people who recommended me to him after which the team got in touch with me.”
2. "So I went there and then Sooraj narrated the script of Maine Pyar Kiya. And for the first time, I wasn't seeing Jackie Shroff or Sanjay Dutt but only myself in a film. I thought, ‘Isko jaane mat do bhai, yeh tumhari life banayega.'"
3. "And as soon as he finished, I said ‘Sooraj, it's superb, man! We'll do a great film together'. And he said, ‘Salman, I have not signed you yet.' He told me there's Deepak Tijori and Kunal Goswam who also are finalists. Then I realised that picture toh gaya and went again on my struggling bout and signed for Biwi Ho Toh Aisi.."
4. "Sooraj called me for the audition. I took Farah Khan for my audition, We used to be friends. I told her, “Woh log nachayenge mujhe toh tu aaja mere ko do-teen steps sikha de.”
I told her, “Woh log nachayenge mujhe toh tu aaja mere ko do-teen steps sikha de.” Chow Mow used to be dancing with her so I called her along with Chow Mow to Juhu beach. I had to learn front somersault. She was like, “Front somersault? Kab sikhne ka hai?” I said, “Mere paas adhe ghante ka time hai!” We tried it. First three attempts, I fell flat on my face. But the fourth one, I got the somersault right. Then we went for the auditions.
5. "He took my test on that ‘Babuji, paise le lo' scene from the film. After that, he made me do some shots with the guitar on, ‘Oh Hansini. He showed it to Charu and Chanda, his cousin and his sister. They liked me and insisted on me being in Maine Pyar Kiya while I was doing Biwi Ho Toh Aisi. Sooraj came to meet Satish Bhalla and told me that they are taking me. But he didn't know that I had signed Biwi Ho Toh Aisi already."
6. "He said, ‘It doesn't matter, we'll come first.' I was like, ‘They finished shooting the film and we're starting now.' Then Sooraj said that he was planning to launch a new boy and I was like. “Again gone.” But, finally he cast me in the film."
