New Delhi: Pakistani actress Mahira Khan is all set to dive into the sea of Indian film industry with Shah Rukh Khan starrer ‘Raees'. However, before she could have hit the silver screen, the actress got caught in a big controversy.
A few weeks ago, right-wing party Shiv Sena imposed a ban on all Pakistani actors including Mahira from promoting their movies in Mumbai, Maharashtra.
Mahira chose to remain silent on protests but later broke it at a Halloween party. She posted a picture of her dressed as cat woman standing next to her director-friend Azim Raza. Azim was dressed up as a Shiv sainik in saffrom holding a placard which read ‘Mahira Ko Bahar Nikalo'.

While many thought Mahira nailed with her hilarious response, the actress has taken a step down. This morning she posted a series of tweets saying that her photo was misconstrued. She said it was unintentional and she did not want to make any political statement.
Here are the tweets from the actress:
Well, it would not be totally wrong to assume that Mahira realised her jest would not be digested well with Shiv Sena. As it is the political party have made it clear that they would not entertain her presence. Maybe, Mahira understood it would be best for her to not say things which could land her in more trouble.
