Mumbai, Nov 27: Director Madhur Bhandarkar has been invited to be a part of the jury at the upcoming Cairo International Film Festival.
The 35th edition of the film festival will begin November 27 and go on till December 6.
“I am delighted to be a part of the International Jury for the 35th edition of Cairo International Film Festival.
I love the theme that they have - ‘Positive thinking, revolution and freedom'. This is an honour, which I humbly accept,” said Bhandarkar in a statement.
The 44-year-old director's last project was the Kareena Kapoor-starrer “Heroine”, which released September.
The Cairo film festival, which was last held in 2010, is returning with an ambitious programme of Arab, African and international films, plus workshops and seminars.
Karan Johar's ‘Agneepath', Rituparno Ghosh's ‘Chitrangada', Zoya Akhtar's ‘Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara' and Tigmanshu Dhulia's ‘Paan Singh Tomar' are the Indian films to be screened at the fest.
