New Delhi, May 13: "Clean" family film "Gippi" and zombie comedy "Go Goa Gone" have got an average opening and earned Rs.75 lakh and Rs.3.75 crore, respectively, on the opening day at the box office.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh revealed the first day collections of both the movies, which came out Friday, on Twitter.

He tweeted that on Friday "Gippi" collected Rs.75 lakh and added: "'Go Goa Gone', 'Gippi' dependent on evening/night shows."

Revealing the collection of "Go Goa Gone", he wrote that on Friday, the film earned Rs.3.75 crore and Saturday's collection was Rs.4.30 crore.

"Gippi", starring 13-year-old Riya Vij in the lead role, talks about challenges of growing up and facing rivalry in school, while "Go Goa Gone" is about four friends who encounter zombies while holidaying in Goa.

Produced by Karan Johar's Dharma Productions, "Gippi" targets the school-going audience and is attracting a lot of teenagers who are coming with their families, says Gautam Dutta, chief operating officer, PVR.

"Since the movie is a lot about school children, the sales are not expected to pick up in the weekdays because the schoolgoing crowd doesn't come for movies when schools are open. It can be a little static," he added.

Distributor Rajesh Thadani feels that "Gippi" "might not gain audience at a great pace".

Talking about director duo Krishna DK-Raj Nidimoru's movie "Go Goa Gone", he said: "The movie had a slow start, which was unexpected.

"It's been a step lower than what we thought. The movie opened slow but has picked up because of word of mouth," Gautam told IANS and added: "The movie's occupancy has only been 65-70 percent in the first three days. We believe a lot of youth will come from Monday."

Co-produced by Illuminati Films and Eros International, "Go Goa Gone", starring stars Saif Ali Khan along with Puja Gupta, Vir Das, Kunal Kemmu and Anand Tiwari, earned maximum collection on the first day in Delhi and Mumbai with Rs.85,00,000 and Rs.1,25,00,000 earnings, respectively.
