New Delhi: Actress Kriti Sanon has denied reports that she has been roped in for "Sultan" opposite Salman Khan, saying nobody has offered her the role yet.
Media was abuzz with the reports that the "Heropanti" star had been signed on to star in the Ali Abbas Zafar-directed film, which was earlier offered to other
prominent actresses in the industry. "Even I read about me doing 'Sultan' in newspapers... I don't really know where it comes from and who gets to know all
this. They don't even confirm or check before they write. I would love to do it but I have not been approached so far," Kriti told PTI on the sidelines of a Gillette Venus event here last night.
The 25-year-old actress will be next seen in Rohit Shetty's upcoming project "Dilwale", which also stars Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol and Varun Dhawan.
Asked why it took her a while to sign her second Bollywood project, Kriti said, "I always knew that it takes time for your second film to happen. I didn't want to sign anything in hurry. In most of the actor's career there has always been a little gap between first and the second film."
Though the Delhi girl was not seen in Bollywood, she cut her teeth in Southern film industry. She did a Telugu film "Dochay" that she shot during the gap.
"Professionally, I was not sitting at home. So, I was not cribbing. It all worked out really well. I think it was more important for me to wait and sign the right project because after your debut film, you need to sign a film which is one notch higher at least.. You need to be careful with the script. You sometimes tend to chose whatever comes your way. I didn't want to do that."
The model-turned-actress was supposed to play the female lead in Akshay Kumar-starrer "Singh Is Bling" but Kriti left the project because her dates were clashing with "Dilwale".
"I was preparing for it... I believe, every film has a destiny. It didn't work out because the film was also getting pushed due to certain reasons. And when it was finally happening, 'Dilwale' was also happening at the same time. So, there was a clash. Me and Ashvini Yardi (producer) mutually decided that I should leave this project and better concentrate on one ," she said.
"Ekk Deewana Tha" star Amy Jackson has replaced Kriti in the film, which releases on October 2.
"I have seen the trailer of the film. Amy is looking fabulous. She did complete justice to the role." Kriti has also been offered director duo Raj and Krishna
DK's next "Farzi" but the actress is unsure whether the film is happening or not.
"There were a lot of changes to be made in the script. So, I don't know when it is happening. I just know that I am a part of it and I feel it's not my business to think other aspects of the filmmaking. I read the script and I really liked it. The directors are really quirky and I just hope it happens soon."
