Kolkata: Actress Konkona Sen Sharma and Indraneil Sengupta are all set to star in a new Byomkesh Bakshi film titled ‘Sajarur Kanta' directed by Saibal Mitra. In the thriller, Dhritiman Chatterjee will be seen donning the gloves of the sleuth, who tries to solve a murder mystery.
Indraneil, portraying the role of a fastidious businessman who falls prey to the murder plot, says, “A film is all about a script and Saibalda has a very classical way of film making. More stylised with string camera and long shots.” “I have read the whole Byomkesh series and from that I can tell you it is more of an adaptation of contemporary times,” the actor said.
Asked if it was a dream come true for him to be part of a Byomkesh film, the ‘Autograph' actor said, “No, to be part of a Byomkesh Bakshi film can't be on the wish list of an actor. Doing the lead role as Byomkesh can be the ultimate dream rather.”
The actor says he decided to do ‘Sajarur Kanta' as he wanted to be part of a good project. On sharing screen space with Konkona, Indraneil said, “Being a wonderful actor, she doesn't need any certificate from me.”
Mitra added, “Till this date there are antique-dotted households in the city but stepping out you will discover new look buses, cars and typical facade of a metro. ‘Sajarur
Kanta' seeks to catch the two which merge at one point,” the director said.
