New Delhi: Bollywood actors and directors are taking their route to television now. After Amitabh Bachchan and Anurag Kashyap joined hands for a fiction show ‘Yudh' which however got a lukewarm response by viewers, it's now ‘Kal Ho Na Ho' fame director Nikhil Advani coming together with actress Konkana Sen for another fiction series on TV.
Nikhil Advani who last directed the critically acclaimed movie ‘D-Day' starring Arjun Rampal, Humar Qureshi and Shruti Haasan among others, is keen on signing on Konkana for the lead role. But according to a leading daily, things are still at the initial stage and nothing has been finalised yet.
Konkana Sen was last witnessed in ‘Ek Thi Daayan' and her performance won her a nomination for the best actress in a supporting role at Filmfare Awards last year.
It may be noted that other actresses from Bollywood too are making appearances on television these days. Raveena Tandon is hosting a chat show titled ‘Simply Baatein' which airs on Sony Pal.
Sonali Bendre will be seen opposite Apurva Agnihotri in Balaji Telefilms' fiction show ‘Ajeeb Daastan Hai Yeh,' to be aired on Life OK channel. The show is about extra marital affairs.
Miss Universe Sushmita Sen who judged a reality show ‘Ek Khiladi Ek Haseena' earlier is also being rumoured to come back on TV with a fiction show.
Simone Singh who starred in a show called ‘Heena' is playing a pivotal role in ‘Ek Hasina Thi' which airs on Star Plus.
Now what remains to be seen is that will Konkona Sen take up this TV offer!
