Mangalore (Karnataka), Jan 10: Veteran playback singer K.Joseph Yesudas turned 73 on Monday and with more than 50,000 film songs in 14 languages, his journey in the world of music continues.
Yesudas is known throughout India for his mellifluous songs for Bollywood films, like Jaaneman Jaaneman (film Chhoti Si Baat), Aaj se pahle, Gori tera gaon (film Chitchor), madhuban khushboo deta hai (Saajan Bin Suhagan), Tujhe Dekh Kar (Saawan Ko Aane Do), Maana Ho tum behad haseen (Toote Khilone), Sunaina (title song), Dil ke tukde hazaar huye (film Dada), Khushiyan hi khushiyan (dulhan wahi jo piya man bhaye).
He has recorded songs in Malayalam, tamil, Kannada, telugu, Bengali, Gujarati, Oriya, Marathi, Punjabi, Sanskrit, Tulu, Malay, Russian, Arabic, Latin and English apart from Hindi during a career spanning five decades.
