New Delhi: The popular comedy show ‘Comedy Nights With Kapil' has been quite loved by the audience. While host Kapil Sharma has managed to grab the maximum attention, supporting actors too have managed to leave quite an impression.

One such actor from the show is Kiku Sharda aka Palak, who made it to headlines today.

Kiku has been arrested for mimicking Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh and ‘hurting' religious sentiments of the people. He has been sent to 14 days of judicial custody.

Singh's followers filed a case against the comedian after he mimicked the self-proclaimed godman in popular show "Comedy Night With Kapil", which was aired on 27 December.

According to the sources, Kiku was detained last night from the sets of ‘Comedy Nights With Kapil'.

Though a household name as Palak, Kiku made his debut in the television industry in 2003 with ‘Hatim'. Hailing from a Marwari business family, Kiku has carved a niche in the industry with his dedication and hard work.

Kiku has been a part of the glam industry for over a decade now. However, he rose to fame with his role as constable Mulayam Singh Gulgule in ‘F.I.R' in 2006.

Apart from being an outstanding comedian, Kiku is a great dancer as well.  

He participated in the dance-based reality show ‘Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 7' along with his wife. He had stunned everyone with his moves and has admitted that it is an inborn talent. He was seen in ‘Nach Baliye 6' as well.

A versatile actor, Kiku has been seen in varied roles during his career in the industry. He was also seen playing the role of Mughal Emperor Akbar in Sab TV's ‘Akbar Birbal'.

Kiku owes his success to ‘Comedy Nights With Kapil'. He has admitted that though people knew him earlier as well, his following has increased after his Palak/Lachha acts in the comedy show.

Apart from the TV industry, Kiku has been a part of several Bollywood films like ‘Darna Mana Hai', ‘Phir Hera Pheri', ‘Dhamaal', ‘Race', ‘Happy New Year' etc.
