New Delhi: Salman Khan's #Kick is still riding high with its success on the box office. With its third weekend collection raising upto Rs 223.94 cr nett. in India, the film has also surpassed the coveted Rs. 300 cr. mark in the global market.
Popular trade analyst and movie critic, Taran Adarsh tweeted, “#Kick [Week 3] Fri 1.97 cr, Sat 2.94 cr, Sun 3.92 cr. Grand total: ₹ 223.94 cr nett. India biz.”
After getting released during Ramadan (a few days prior to Eid), the film garnered a brilliant control on the box office and became the highest grosser of the year till now. Also, marking the film as the highest grossing film of Salman Khan, Kick is also set to kick out Shah Rukh Khan's ‘Chennai Express' domestic record of Rs 226.07 crore.
A bit of hindrance in the steady move of Salman-Jacqueline starrer Kick is being paved by Akshay Kumar's Entertainment which has opened very well at the box office. Minting Rs. 36.69 crore in its opening weekend, the film is all set to gain more in the coming days as according to the post by Taran Adarsh, “#Entertainment has decent weekend, but weekdays are crucial!”
With the entrance of Ajay Devgn-Kareena Kapoor starrer ‘Singham Returns' set to make new records this week, it is sure to effect the collection Akshay's Entertainment.
Thus, with a more-than-satisfying start for ‘Entertainment' and a marvelous cashing-in due to Salman's ‘Kick,' both the films have a good few days to add more to the moolah, before Rohit Shetty's ‘Singham Returns' hits the screens.
