New Delhi: Sonam Kapoor-Fawad Khan's ‘Khoobsurat' may have got lesser number of screens in comparison to Parineeti Chopra-Aditya Roy Kapur's Daawat-e-Ishq, but nevertheless it's giving a stiff competition to the latter at box-office.

The Shashanka Ghosh's directorial has shown a good growth on Sunday as it was expected being a holiday. ‘Khoobsurat', which also starred Kirron Kher and Ratna Pathak Shah in pivotal roles collected Rs 4.25 cr according to a leading daily and took the weekend collection to over Rs 12 cr nett in India.

Considering the number of screens count, Khoobsurat is doing an equivalent business to Daawat-e-Ishq, which on the other hand, on Sunday garnered Rs 6 cr adding, which its three days total now stands at Rs 14 cr nett in India.

Daawat-e-Ishq which showcases dowry system in India got mixed reviews in fact lesser favorable reviews than Khoobsurat. The kind of response it's getting was unexpected being an YRF film. Also Parineeti Chopra has a bank of hit flicks while Aditya too after ‘Aashiqui 2' enjoys a major fan following but sadly none of these factors worked in favour of Daawat-e-Ishq. The theatres are witnessing just decent footfalls.

However, the same is happening for Khoobsurat but it gave more than expected. Both the movies will do a decent business in the weekdays and moreover in the second week too. Since, this week it's ‘Desi Kattey' going to hit the screens, which has no major buzz, the two films shall continue their run till next week's two major releases namely ‘Haider' and ‘Bang Bang'.
