Living all by herself in Mumbai is surely getting to Bollywood star Katrina Kaif. With a sigh, she says“I'm starting to miss living with family too much lately.”
“It's just me alone at home... and I honestly don't know what to do,” she says. “I'm alone so I don't bother with my meals,” she admits.
The actress says she knows that her mother Sussane Turquotte is committed to a cause and will not leave Nilangarai in Tamil Nadu to come and live with her in Mumbai, says a media report.
In fact, she is seriously considering opening a shelter for abandoned female children around Mumbai so that her mother can come set it up; and at least then live with her at her home.
Her younger sister Isabelle is in New York studying acting and the rest of her family loves England too much to even think in terms of migrating to the maximum city. So that leaves Katrina alone in this city of her dreams.
The actress admits she hates everything about living alone. “I don't even know how to run a kitchen,” she admits. And there are days on end, when Kat is content to eat her bowl of fruit and drink coconut water because she just can't get into the routine of telling the domestic help what to cook each day for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Kat, who has lost a few more kilos in the last few weeks, says part of her weight loss could be due to the fact that she doesn't eat well.
“I keep wondering if it is the heat that has caused this loss of appetite. Honestly, I don't know. Something is bothering me and I can't pin-point what it is. But I just feel that if my family was around, I would enjoy a normal home life. It's nice to have people at the dinner table.''
Even filmmaker Prakash Jha, in whose office Katrina was doing her promotional interviews for Raajneeti, noticed her looking slightly pale and asked her point blank why she was so careless with her health. To which, Kat is said to have told him that she can't run an efficient kitchen.
And living alone in Mumbai was definitely getting to her. The actress realises that she can spend a few days in London whenever she chooses to; but despite it all, Mumbai is where her home is. And though she loves the city, her work and her flat, but she hates coming home to empty walls.
