New Delhi: This season of dance reality show Jhalak Dikhljaa, named Jhalak Dikhlajaa Reloaded, has been in the news more because of the judges than for any other reason.
There were rumours that actor Shahid Kapoor would exit the show midway. Later, it was also said that director Karan Johar would leave the show, not Shahid. Though both the rumours had their supporters, it is the latter one that came true.
Karan Johar, who was seen as a judge on the show for four years, has finally quit. The news was confirmed by Shahid Kapoor who said he would miss Karan on the show.
Karan Johar also tweeted about his exit and how it made him sentimental.
As a judge, Karan Johar had always been one of the highlights of this hit show. His equation with his co-judges, like choreographer Remo D' Souza and actress Madhuri Dixit in previous seasons and Shahid Kapoor this season, used to be the favourite moments of the episodes. Fans got to see the side of Karan where he would dance to hit Bollywood numbers and share jokes about his experiences as a director. Not only this, his friendly banter with host Manish Paul used to leave viewers in splits.
He also developed a bond with some of the contestants like actor Siddharth Shukla of ‘Balika Vadhu' fame. Karan launched Siddharth in his production's movie ‘Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania'.
Reportedly, Karan Johar will now devote his time to his directorial project ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil' that stars Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma.
