Mumbai: She charmed the audiences with her debut as Chanda, the innocent yet seductive child prostitute in 'Dev D' and after a two-year hiatus, Kalki Koechlin is returning to the screens as an action queen.  Her upcoming project 'Emotional Atyachar' will see her do some dare-devil stunts .

"'Emotional Atyachar' has a dark comedy tone to it and it is exciting because there is a lot of action there. In fact during one of the action sequences, I remember hanging in air for what seemed like ages to me," Kalki told PTI.

With an ensemble cast of Vinay Pathak, Ranvir Shorey, Mohit Alawat and Ravi Kissen, 'Emotional Atyachar' is directed by debutante Akshay Shere.

The film's title takes a cue from the namesake superhit track in 'Dev D' , but Kalki says that the similarity ends there.  "It is not an extension of 'Dev D'.

Instead, it is a road thriller with black humour in it. The story is set on a deserted highway between Mumbai and Goa and revolves around incidents that take place in one night to four sets of travellers," said Kalki.

Born to French parents and named after the last incarnation of Lord Vishnu, Koechlin's career graph is set to soar with her next project, where she will share the screen with reigning heartthrobs Hrithik Roshan, Farhan Akhtar and Abhay Deol.

"'Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara' is a happy movie with quite some action in it. Zoya Akhtar comes with a unique sensibility of her own and this is what excited me most about the film," said the actress.

Never to shy away from talking about her love life Kalki said it was the common passion for cinema that strengthened her relationship with boyfriend, director Anurag Kashyap.

"The fact is that our personalities are very similar and this is the reason why we get along so very well. We both carry the sensibility of wanting to be passionate about our work. Anything that we do for screen has to come for a good reason. It just can't be only for fun," said Kalki.

Talking about 'Dev D', Kalki was quite candid in admitting that her debut didn't gain cult-like status overnight.  "Let me be honest in stating that there was never a huge downpour of compliments coming my way to begin with.

'Dev D' wasn't an overnight hit", said the actress. PTI
