6. Kajol's struggle
Kajol struggled from her first movie to live to the expectations of the audience and her family. She confessed that it is very difficult to be a star.
At that time, glamorous actresses like Madhuri Dixit, Sridevi, Raveena Tandon, Juhi Chawla etc were taking over the Bollywood while girl next-door Kajol was still to make her identity.
7. Bekhudi Experience
Kajol considers her debut movie Bekhudi as a fantastic learning experience. She confessed that it was ridiculous for her to get up at 4 am, iron her clothes and shoot all day long on the sets. She credits co-actor Kamal Sadanah, director Rahul Rawail and cinematographer Kamalakar Rao for teaching her about filmmaking.
“They taught me more than I have learnt in all my films combined. I can never forget that experience,” Kajol said.
8. Kajol's Bekhudi hero Saif Ali Khan
Yes! Saif Ali Khan was the original hero for Bekhudi but he left the movie after few days of shooting. Following that actor Kamal Sadanah was signed to play the main lead opposite Kajol. Besides that, Saif and Kajol have worked together in five films.
Interestingly, Kajol's mother Tanuja played her reel mother in the first movie of her career.
9. Kajol's father forced him to sign Baazigar
Film director jodi Abbas-Mastan reached actress Tanuja's home to sign Kajol for Baazigar. When they met Kajol they found her exuberant but she was not interested in doing the movie. It was after her father's repetitive pressure that Kajol agreed to do the movie, which turned out to be his first big success in B-town. It starred Shah Rukh Khan, Shilpa Shetty and Siddharth Ray.
10. Year 1995 – Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge
No 5 is very lucky for Kajol. In 1995, her five films got released on the box office. Out of which Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge turned out be a blockbuster and created history by running continuously for 20 years.
The movie gave a new jodi Raj-Simran which is still loved and remembered by the audiences.
