The evergreen actress Jaya Bachchan has turned 66 today and there is no denying to the fact that in these years her stint in both Bollywood and politics has been remarkable throughout. The spark and the excitement, which Jaya portrays in her character that is in love with Dharmendra, was exceptional and this also made her the nominee for the best actress at Filmfare Awards.2 Uphaar- The actress only does it better this time. A small village girl who lives in her own world is married to Anoop, a city lawyer. Jaya brings in live a girl who comes out of her shell and finally loves and lives with her husband after lot of denying in the mid. This also won her nomination at Filmfare.3 Piya ka Ghar- The following year, the actress played a middle class woman who struggles to find some privacy with her husband (played by Anil Dhawan) in a small room after their marriage. She brings out an extraordinary performance in an ordinary situation in this flick.4 Koshish- In the same year 1972, a flick about living life to the fullest despite having certain physical inability was served with spectacular performance by the main lead Jaya Bhaduri and Sanjeev Kumar who played mute and deaf couple.5 Abhimaan- The real life couple Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan played a reel life couple in this flick which was high on emotion. The two are singers and they battle it out to save their relationship form jealous and desires which come haunting them. It was one of the classic cult by Hrishikesh Mukherjee and classic performance by both these actors. Her first Filmfare Award was in her kitty this time. 6 Kora Kagaz- Jaya played and persuaded with her character who finds hard to keep her low-salary earner husband happy but some how fail to do so. The actress won Filmfare for it in 1974.7 Silsila- There were already news making rounds that all is not well in the paradise of the real life couple and there was a keen involvement of Rekha in it. Yash Chopra's ‘Silsila' in 1981 captured this love triangle and all the characters made it look more authentic. But Jaya made it to the best actress nominees list at Filmfare.8 Fiza- After a huge gap of 19 years, it was one of the best comebacks one could wish to have. Jaya played Hrithik's mother who has become a terrorist. The intensity and the emotion was all the more captivating and she won Filmfare Best Actress in the supporting role for it.9 Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham- In 2001, she once again gave an award winning performance in this flick. A woman battling between her son and husband was truly engaging. 10 Kal Ho Na Ho: Karan Johar made her win once again the best actress in a supporting role trophy at Filmfare with his next directorial.
