New Delhi, Apr 9: Designer James Ferreira added a hint of the Bollywood tease to his show at the ongoing Wills India Fashion Week by breaking into an impromptu jig to the tunes of hit item number 'Sheila ki Jawani' on the ramp. (Wills Lifestyle)
The designer, who chose the theme of Aesops' fable 'The Hare and The Tortoise' for his collection, left the fashion savvy crowd astonished when he grooved to the song from 'Tees Maar Khan' while taking a bow.
"I love the song. I think this is a happening number, so I thought of using it," said Ferreira.
Sporting short denim pants with a t-shirt along with a flowing black overcoat, Ferreira added the missing pinch of enthusiasm amongst the audience with his spontaneous moves, while his army of models gave him full support.
The designer, who partners with a Swiss NGO to support the cause of educating children in Andhra Pradesh and Mumbai, has based his creations on the balance in Ecology and Responsible Fashion which comprises of Tortoise shell and fur prints in Chiffon and Satin.
Citing his inspiration, Ferreira said, "I have a pet turtle at my house, I am very fond of it... My pet inspired me."
Not just the designer, but his models also were seen teasing the audience by throwing flirtatious glances at them.
Adding structure to his well-known signature drape, Ferreira has pleated and tucked Italian fabrics in heavy wool and silk jacquards using a modern silhouette with boxy and A-line shapes.
He played with winter forest shades of Moss Green, Golden yellow, Teal Blue and Blunt Sienna for the season.
The designer will be donating 10 percent of his profits to support the foundation. PTI
