Mumbai,Jan 24:After giving two back-to-back hits in Bollywood, South choreographer-turned-director Prabhu Deva says filmmakers here want him to make action-masala movies but feels it's difficult to try out new things in the same space.

Prabhu Deva made his directorial debut in Hindi films with Salman Khan starrer Wanted in 2009 which turned out to be a huge hit. Then he teamed up with Akshay Kumar for Rowdy Rathore last year which went on to become a blockbuster.

"Everybody wants me to do action kind of films. It is ok. It is good that I am in demand. There are offers.. Talks are on but I can't talk about it. It is too early," said Prabhu Deva.

Asked if he would continue making south kind of action masala films in Bollywood, the ace dancer said, "I don't know... If producers are liking it, audience are liking it then will have to do that even if I want to do some other films but I am like ok doing it (action films)."

The 39-year-old director says he has no clue how far action films will have a good run at the box office.

"I don't know how far will such action masala films run. I have no idea. The good part is this space (action-masala) is doing good why to introspect and research," he said.

Prabhu Deva feels it becomes difficult to explore other things in a particular genre everytime.

"It is very difficult to come up with new things in action genre. I try what all I can change and give something different, I try my best to do whatever I can in the same space. Also there are writers and others to help us so it is a team effort," he said.

Considering both his Hindi films did well, it seems Prabhu has understood the pulse of the Hindi film audience but he says today audience is smart and is ready to accept good films.

"I don't think so I have understood the pulse of the audience. Nobody knows the pulse of the audience. By the grace of God things are working for me. As Rowdy Rathore other films like Vicky Donor, Kahaani, Barfi are also doing good business. Audience wants to watch good films," he said.

"We work hard on every film and then its upto the audience whether they like it or not. At the end of the day it is the audience wish what to accept and what not," he added.

Today when Rs 100 crore at the box office has become the benchmark of success, Prabhu Deva feels it's for the producers to worry about numbers.

"I don't go by collection. I don't think about what the collection should be. I just want my producers to be happy I just think of making a good film. It is producer's job, my job is to direct," Prabhu Deva said.

Prabhu Deva will be seen acting in Remo D'Souza's 3D dance drama ABCD - Anybody Can Dance'.

The film also has choreographer Ganesh Acharya in key role besides reality show contestants from Dance India Dance essaying central characters. The film will release on February 8.

Prabhu Deva is also busy filming 'Ramaiya Vasta Vaiya which stars Girish Kumar, son of producer Kumar Taurani and Shruti Hasan in the lead.

The film is a romantic-comedy and is scheduled to release in June.

He has one project with Shahid Kapoor and Sonakshi Sinha, other with Salman Khan and one more with Ajay Devgn. All these three films will be action-based.
