Bollywood item girl Rakhi Sawant has said that the Indian audience is not going to accept Pakistani actress Veena Malik as their bahu.In an interview to Times of India, Rakhi said: "I protest against the choice of celebrity! Arre Indian celebrities ko lena chahiye tha! I don't think Indian parents will accept Veena Malik as their bahu. After all, she's a Pakistani national!
"I could understand if this show was happening in Pakistan! I am really sure that Shiv Sena and Maharashtra Navnirman Sena will not allow a Pakistani star to have such a marriage in India!"
Promotional pictures of Veena Malik shooting for her forthcoming Swayamvar on TV have already leaked in the press, but ex-Swayamvar girl Rakhi Sawant is not ready to accept Veena in her new avatar. Rakhi had appeared in the first edition of Swayamvar on Imagine TV.
Asked if she's ready for another Swayamvar, Rakhi says: "Honestly speaking, after seeing my parents' marriage, I have lost all faith in marriage. I don't marriage is a great institution! But still, if I get a good proposal, I may think about marriage some day."
PTI adds: Veena Malik has been finalized for the fourth season of television reality show ‘Swayamvar'.
‘Swayamvar' is a show where contestants perform tasks and woo the hopeful bride or groom in return for their hand in marriage.
“For this season, Veena has been finalised. She is very much popular and people want to know more about her,” a source said.
The other names that were doing the rounds were of TV actress Shweta Tiwari's estranged husband Raja Chaudhary and singer Mika.
Earlier, Veena appeared in the fourth season of controversial reality show ‘Big Boss', and grabbed limelight for her love affair with actor Ashmit Patel after she ended her relationship with Pakistani cricketer Mohammad Asif.
The show started in India in 2009 with reality TV queen and item dancer Rakhi Sawant choosing Elesh Parujanwala as her groom, followed by late BJP leader Pramod Mahajan's son Rahul, who kept his promise and married Dimpy Mahajan from the show.
The last season saw television actress Ratan Rajput getting engaged to Abhinav Sharma.
