A night out with friends turned awry for star singer Abhijeet Sawant after a friend's car rammed into a scooter in Santacruz last night, seriously injuring two persons.
The incident took place at Daulat Nagar in Santacruz around 11.30 pm yesterday. Driving the car that hit the scooter was aspiring singer Prajakta Shukre who was with three other girls.

The injured, brothers Toufiq Khan (19) and Tauhid Khan (14), were rushed to Nanavati Hospital and were undergoing treatment.
Witnesses at the spot claimed that Shukre and Sawant, who was driving an Audi, were in an inebriated condition and got into a brawl with the pedestrians when they tried to stop them.
The Santacruz police sent the duo for an alcohol test and medical examination at Bhabha Hospital.
According to witnesses, three cars, including the one that Sawant was driving, were racing at Daulat Nagar in Santacruz. Shukre was driving a sedan and ran over a scooter, grievously injuring the rider and the pillion.
"Sawant immediately got out of the car and began to shield Shukre after the accident. He also hurled abuses at the public," said Salim Khan, a witness.
Khan claimed that when bystanders tried to stop him, he boasted of his contacts and threatened everybody to keep away. The mob then became furious and beat up Sawant.
A wireless police van rushed to the spot and brought the unruly mob under control. Sawant was taken to the police station and Shukre was sent for an alcohol test and medical examination to Bhabha hospital.
"We are waiting for the medical reports after which we will arrest Shukre. The victims are out of danger and are recovering," said a police official, on condition of anonymity.
Police added that the group was returning after a night out at a Juhu restaurant. "On their way back, they spotted an empty lane and decided to race for fun," he added.
Bollywood singer Sonu Nigam and few other aspiring singers rushed to the police station when they learnt about the incident.
