New Delhi: Actor Imran Khan is gearing up for his next release ‘Katti Batti'. The actor won everyone's hearts in his debut ‘Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Naa' in the year 2008. Things however turned south for the actor pretty soon. Most of his films including Luck and Kidnap bombed at the box office.

The 32-year-old actor had taken a break from the industry when his wife Avantika got pregnant with their daughter Imara.

Obviously, the pressure must be really heavy on the actor given that he is returning after a long gap. But the actor thinks differently.

In an interview to a leading daily, the actor said, “My obituary was written in 2009 after Luck released. With I Hate Luv Storys, Delhi Belly and Mere Brother Ki Dulhan, everyone said I was back and then Once Upon A Time In Mumbai Dobaara! and Gori Tere Pyaar Mein (2013) tanked. Soon enough, I was written off. Everyone said, ‘Imran toh khatam ho gaya, uska koi chance nai tha'. I have read my obituary twice already.”

In the competitive film industry, actors are made and shattered every day. When Imran entered the industry, he was compared to his friend Ranbir Kapoor who has also hit a rocky road in his career. With three flops, Ranbir is receiving a lot of flak from critics.

“I haven't spoken to him about this but I think it's comical. Aamir, Shah Rukh and Salman have all been around for three decades. In those 30 years, each one of them has given more than 10 flops. But they haven't been written off,” Imran said.

He also added, “So it's sad when people question an actor of Ranbir's calibre when two of his films don't work. What's interesting is that the same people will praise him after one hit.”
