Mumbai, Mar 12: Reacting to the Censor Board's stance that item numbers in films will be examined on a case-to-case basis, actress Kareena Kapoor has said this will not stop her from doing such songs.  The Censor Board has said item songs will be examined to see whether they are suitable for a ‘U', ‘UA', or ‘A' certificate.

The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC)'s clarification came in the wake of raging debate about “obscenity” in item numbers, which have now become a key feature of most commercial films.

There were reports that the CBFC may come out with a rule to certify all dance numbers with an ‘A' certificate, but the Board chairperson recently made it clear that there was no change in the existing guidelines.

“It is Censor Board's decision. But I love to dance and sing and I will continue to do it. Song and dance have been a part of Hindi cinema and will remain so, I guess.
Whenever ‘Sheila Ki Jawani' or ‘Fevicol se' is played the audience enjoy it... they like it,” Kareena said.  When asked if the decision of the Censor Board will have an impact on the number of audience, Kareena says, “I don't think so. I am sure people will come to theatre to see the film and the song.”

The actress was here to inaugurate FICCI Frames, a business-cum-entertainment convention, which kickstarted today and will conclude on March 14.

Karan Johar and other senior bureaucrats called me. I am happy to be here at FICCI Frames to light the lamp, as I am part of the film industry. It is great to be here,” Kareena said.
