In her own words, Aarti Chabria's recent release has been her “most challenging film to date.” And it's easy to see why. The actor's essaying the role of a village belle in this Manoj Bajpai starrer, a far cry from her off screen SoBo self. Also, the fact that she was required to bid adieu to her workout regime, which she's almost addicted to and put on several kilos to look the part, was quite a task.
“But that's the beauty of being an actor. I get to be characters that are so unlike me,” exclaims Chabria, whose act hasn't gone unnoticed. But she credits it all to her co-star Manoj, reports DNA.
“Manoj speaks a million words with his eyes. He gives such a beautiful, understated performance that you automatically work harder,” she says.
As for her transformation from sexy to sweet, she adds, “It was fun playing this simple girl and to get into the shoes of this character. I felt like a different me completely.” And while onscreen her character demands gold in exchange of her commitment, off screen, Aarti reveals that she's an “unconditional lover.” “I believe that there can't be any clauses or conditions in love. I just believe in the beauty of the emotion,” she says.
So, what then explains her single status? “Well, I'm waiting for someone to sweep me off my feet!” she laughs. “I am a true-blue romantic, so I'm in love with the concept of love. And it's so precious that I'm also very possessive about sharing it with just about anyone. It has to be someone really special for me,” she says.
Aarti who's back to her workouts and looking every bit her old toned self says getting back in shape was tougher than she thought. “I am lucky that my body type allows me to get back in shape quickly, but now I'm really missing all the binge-eating. I'm back to thinking twice about calories before tucking in a mouthful,” she smiles.
