New Delhi: The multi-starrer ‘Humshakals' has got a brilliant opening at box office with Rs 12.5 cr collection leaving behind Akshay Kumar's ‘Holiday- A Soldier Is never Off Duty' which earned Rs 12.18 cr on Day 1. But the good news is that Holiday, which within two weeks minted Rs 99.71 cr, by its third Friday has entered into the elite club of Rs 100 cr and become the third flick to achieve this milestone.

This Friday's sole release comedy caper ‘Humshakals' has now become year's third biggest opener after Salman Khan's ‘Jai Ho' and Ranveer-Priyanka-Arjun's ‘Gunday' which collected Rs 17.55 cr and Rs 16.12 cr respectively.

The flick however has been given below average ratings but the results show the box office figures aren't in awe of any critics' verdict.

Enjoying massive release in India, the flick which stars Saif Ali Khan, Reteish Deshmukh, Ram Kapoor, Esha Gupta, Tamannaah and Bipasha Basu, begin on a low note with around 30-35 % occupancy in the morning shows but picked up well in the evening particularly in Delhi-NCR and North India regions.

The positive word of mouth is doing the tricks and if it goes like this the flick will mint around Rs 40 cr by weekend.

Directed by Sajid Khan, the flick is about Ram, Kishore and Kans who discover their triple roles and there follows a big confusion in the flick.

According to our film critic, the flick is an injustice to innocent comedy seekers. The screenplay is thrown in the trash box, the gags have no class and even the overacting by the entire cast couldn't convince audience to flex the facial muscle for actor's stupidity.
