New Delhi: Another revelation of how much our favourite stars charge to entertain us has definitely come as a shock. Reportedly, actor Hrithik Roshan has asked for a whooping amount of Rs 50 crores to work in producer-director Ashutosh Gowariker's ambitious project Mohenjo Daro.
That is half the budget of the entire movie.
Yes, Ashutosh Gowariker, whose home production is making this movie, was about to shed Rs 100 crores for this one. Now that Hrithik has hiked his price to an enormous amount, how will Ashutosh manage the entire movie in Rs 50 crores?
Set in the era of the Indus Valley Civilization, the movie goes back to 2600 BC. To bring the bygone era alive on screen, it is expected that the team was ready to invest a lot on computer generated imagery (CGI) effects. Obviously, the team needs to put in a lot of effort keeping every intricate detail in mind if they want to mesmerise audiences. Rumours also suggest that one scene of the movie depicts Hrithik in combat with a 20 ft crocodile.

Given the expectations audiences have from the duo of Ashutosh and Hrithik after their last outing ‘Jodha Akbar', they would surely not settle for anything less than perfect. With a budget constraint, it will be interesting to see how Gowariker manages since it's probably too late to drop Hrithik and look for another actor who demands a lesser fee. We will keep you posted on this.
