New Delhi: They are like the Jai-Veeru of Sholay, says Farah Khan over her relationship with Shah Rukh Khan who years before had a tiff following a fight with former's husband at a private bash thrown by Sanjay Dutt.
But the director who is all set with her ‘Happy New Year' to roll in theatres never had any hard feeling for the actor with whom she marked her directorial debut in the name of ‘Main Hoon Na'.
But most of all she credits SRK's wife Gauri Khan for rekindling her bond with the superstar. In an interview to a leading daily, Farah didn't forget to mention Gauri's name for the patch-up.
After her superhit ‘Om Shanti Om', Farah had Shah Rukh in her mind for ‘Tees Maar Khan', which after her spat featured Akshay Kumar in the lead role. However, that Christmas release bombed at box office and it could be said that Shah Rukh was saved from adding this movie in his list of worst films.
Now while she was penning down the script of ‘Happy New Year', SRK took the initiative and called her up to cast him in her movie. The director instantly mailed him the script of Happy New Year.
Following which Gauri Khan called Farah up and asked her fly to London to meet Shah Rukh. The duo met in King Khan's house and the deal was finalized.
“She (Gauri Khan) was instrumental in our patch-up. My brother (Sajid Khan) had called her and she said I should drop by at their house whenever I want. A few days later, Shirish, Sajid (Nadiadwala) and I went and settled the dispute. After that she came to my new house. She kept the friendship going”, Farah was quoted as saying in an interview to a leading daily.
And now when the two are together, nothing seems to break their immortal friendship as we too wish the same.
The ‘Om Shanti Om' team is back alongside Abhishek Bachchan, Boman Irani, Sonu Sood and Vivaan Shah. Happy New Year is slated to release this Diwali on Octobter 24th.
