New Delhi: Despite being highly criticized by all, Sajid Khan's slapstick comedy is keeping the cash registers ringing at the box office. The flick had a terrific opening at box office with Rs 12.50 cr and a rock-steady collection was witnessed on the following day thereby taking its two days total to Rs 25.09 cr nett in India.

“Humshakals Fri 12.50 cr, Sat 12.59 cr. Total: Rs 25.09 cr nett. India biz”, tweets trade analyst and film critic Taran Adarsh.

Now, looking at the box office collection charts, ‘Gunday' enjoys the second spot with two days earning of Rs 28.75 cr in India while Salman Khan's ‘Jai Ho' rules the charts with Rs 33.80 cr collection. Joining the list at the third spot is Humshakals.

This has affected Akshay Kumar-Sonakshi Sinha's ‘Holiday- A Soldier Is Never Off Duty', which due to diminished number of screens partially collapsed on its third Friday. The flick directed by A.R. Murugadoss garnered only Rs 1.02 cr nett but finally hit the ton with fifteen days collection of Rs 100.73 cr.

The action-thriller has now become the third flick to enter the Rs 100 cr club following Salman Khan's ‘Jai Ho' and Alia-Arjun's ‘2 States'.

“Holiday [Week 3] Fri 1.02 cr. Grand total: Rs 100.73 cr nett. India biz. HIT. Biz was super-strong on Sat too”, tweets Adarsh.

What is surprising this week is Sajid Khan's multi-starrer which however, was initially expected to rake good but considering its response it became a butt of jokes with nil hopes.

According to critics, the flick, which stars Saif, Reteish, Tamannaah among others has created a new low in terms of comedy dramas. Some of them are of the view that Sajid Khan should be banned from filmmaking.

But the figures are astonishing and are enough to shut them off.  The flick made at a budget of Rs 50 cr is enjoying massive number of screens not only in domestic but at overseas too. And if it continues with same momentum it could add big moolah at box office.
