Mumbai: Filmmaker Karan Johar, who has mostly made romantic films, said here today that legendary historic love stories do not inspire him.

When asked if he would act and make a movie based on legendary historic love stories like Heer Ranjha, Romeo Juliet, Karan said, “I can't act.

Legendary love stories like Romeo Juliet and Laila Majnu is something that everyone wants to make. I don't think history inspires me,” at the promotional event of Bela Sehgal's upcoming film, ‘Shirin Farhad Ki Toh Nikal Padi'.

The leading actors of the movie are Boman Irani and Farah Khan, who were dressed up like Rahul and Anjali, the two famous on screen characters played by Shahrukh Khan and Kajol respectively in Karan's debut film, ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai'.

“I must say both Boman and Farah have truly justified their look as Rahul and Anjali. Boman is a fantastic actor and getting Farah to act in the film was a great idea. I think no one else except Farah could have played Shirin in this film,” he said.

Elated with the response from Karan, Farah asked him, if he intends to make sequel of ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai' to which he replied, “I think the sequel will be better than the first part.”

‘Shirin Farhad Ki Toh Nikal Padi' is produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and directed by his sister Bela, releases on August 24.
