Mumbai : Popular UK based hip-hop bhangra band RDB (Rhythm Dhol Bass), famous for the ‘Sadi Gali' number in ‘Tanu weds Manu', plans to open a studio in India as they feel Bollywood is the biggest market for their kind of music.

RDB is a Punjabi DJ production team consisting of three individuals, Kuly, Manj and Surj, who blend western genres with traditional Punjabi beats and vocals.

“Bollywood market has always opened its doors for different kinds of music and our band's sound was adored. I must say Bollywood is one of the biggest markets for our kind of music. Our music goes out to places where we would not expect it to reach,” RDB member Surj told PTI.

In the past, RDB has given soundtracks for some famous songs like ‘Sadi Gali' from ‘Tanu Weds Manu', ‘Rafta Rafta' from ‘Namaste London', title song of ‘Yamla Pagla Deewana' and ‘Singh is King'.

The band would eventually like to open a studio in India to continue scoring for Bollywood films, Surj admitted.  On if they are looking at shifting their base here, Surj said, “We want to...we are hunting for a place to be here. Due to technology, things have become fast and easy. We are thinking of opening a studio as we are getting more work here.”

“We are looking to set up a studio in Delhi and Mumbai as we know a lot of people in these places. So it would help us in a way. The meetings are going on, hopefully it should happen by next year,” he said.

The UK band is gearing up for another “party anthem kind of track”.

“We are getting calls from producers and directors for new tracks. We are meeting people. We might have three-four releases. It is all in final stages, I can't talk about it,” Surj said.
