Hate Story 3 is an erotic thriller starring Sharman Joshi, Karan Singh Grover, Zarine Khan, and Daisy Shah .Directed by Vishal Pandya, it is the third instalment in Hate Story franchisee .The film had already hogged limelight for its bold promos and steamy scenes.The film tells story of Aditya Diwan( Sharman Joshi) who leads an idyllic life with a bustling business and a sexy wife Siya (Zarine Khan) but things take a bad turn when Saurav Singhania ( Karan Singh Grover) enters his life. Saurav asks Aditya to lend his wife for a night in a True ‘indecent proposal' style and take anything in return.
As expected Aditya refuses the offer and then Sourav embarks on an unending journey to destroy Aditya's life. But Aditya is no meek player he uses his secretary Kavya (Daisy Shah) as a honey trap against Karan . Then follows twist and counter twist that takes you to the one of the most inane climax of recent times.
Hate Story 3 is a shoddy reflection of Abbas Mustan Vikram Bhatt kind of cinema.
The film lacks in intensity and vigour, moreover the half baked screen play makes the film a tiring experience.
The script was tepid to say the least even with pretence of an interesting plot, it hopelessly falters after interval.
Music was another letdown as some songs were forced and only added to the cacophony already created by background score.
About the sleaze, Zarine and Daisy Shah have shed their inhibitions and have gone bold with their roles. Both tantalize the audience with their oomph.
Hate Story 3 could have worked had it been released in 90s.The crowd, mostly teenagers, were hooting and cheering during steamy scenes in the theatre. Hate Story does have some masala to please the front benchers. It may attract some audience in single screen which could be its target audience..
Sharman Joshi is a fine actor but it was not his film. . Whenever he erupted in anger (what he does most of the time in the film) he reminded me of angry Raju Rastogi( 3 idiots). Besides, his chemistry with Zarine was a complete dud. However, it was Karan Singh Grover who was at his theatrical best. He not only steals the show from Sharman but also gives tough competition to leading ladies in skin showing.
Both Zarine and Daisy were supposed to make the film a sleaze-fest, but their acting only contributed in making Hate Story a snooze-fest. However, Zarine takes the cake as the most wooden performer of the film despite the fact that it is she who will draw crowd to theatres.
