New Delhi: Past three weeks haven't proven valuable for box office despite decent to big names being carried in flicks released in these weeks. ‘The Shaukeens' which starred Anupam Kher, Piyush Mishra, Annu Kapoor in lead as well as Akshay Kumar in an extended cameo appearance ended its two weeks run at box office with Rs 32.36 cr nett in India, according to a leading daily Koimoi.

The movie despite getting mixed reviews by critics couldn't turn into good box office collection. Much of the blame was given to not keeping Akshay Kumar at the fore or at the centre of the entire promotion campaign.

Kill Dil movie review

Last week's release Kill Dil however; looked promising prior its release but it was that entire glossy trap which enticed viewers to enter into the theatres. Film starting Ranveer Singh, Parineeti Chopra, Ali Zafar and Govinda didn't take much time to get exposed and as a result moviegoers refrained watching this gang saga.

The movie opened dull collecting just Rs 6.85 cr while with a slight appraisal by weekend it made Rs 21 nett. The one week total of Kill Dil stands at Rs 29 cr nett in India.

With box office getting tepid response since two weeks, all eyes were on Saif Ali Khan starrer ‘Happy Ending' which also had names like Ileana D' Cruz,  Govinda in lead and Kareena, Preity in cameo to associate itself with.

Happy Ending movie review

The film has received mixed reviews but the problem is that it is mostly targeting the urban audience. As a result the most of the collection has come from multiplexes while single screen theatres have mostly gone empty. After opening day collection of Rs 4 cr nett, ‘Happy Ending' managed to show a growth at box office on Saturday where it garnered Rs 5 cr.

Positive word of mouth plus a Sunday holiday should help the movie to make a good collection today but the same couldn't be said for its weekday's collection. All in all Happy Ending also couldn't end the dry spell at the box office.
