Mumbai: One of the most established Khans in the film industry, Aamir Khan turned 49 today.
Born as Aamir Hussain Khan, he started his acting career as a child artist in the film Yaadon Ki Baaraat (1973).
Aamir later debuted in a lead role with 'Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak' in 1988 and the very first film won him the first National Film Award as a Special Jury Award and he received the same again for 'Raakh' in 1989.
He received his first Filmfare Award for Best Actor for his performance in the major grosser 'Raja Hindustani' in 1996 and later earned his second Best Actor award for his performance in the Academy Award-nominated 'Lagaan', which also marked the debut of his own production company.
Aamir made his television debut with his social issue based talk show 'Satyamev Jayte' and is presently hosting the second season of the same.
His upcoming films include 'PK (PeeKay)' and 'The Falling'.
