Mumbai, Sep 21: Bollywood star Kareena Kapoor has turned 32 today and is ready with her birthday gift Heroine for her fans.
The Halkat Jawani girl is all set to sway spectators in Madhur Bhandarkar's film releasing today, with an aim to dominate Bollywood's narrow summit for actresses occupied by the likes of Katrina Kaif, Kareena herself, and an aspiring Vidya Balan.
Right from her debut in Refugee till her latest daring acts in Heroine, Kareena has shown a tremendous balance of maturity in each of her performances.
Who can forget the talkative, the vivacious Sikh girl Geet in ‘Jab We Met' or the benchmark performance in Vishal Bhardwaj's Omkara.
Critics had been panning her roles in Khusi, Yaadein, Main Prem Ki deewani Hu, Mujhse Dosti Karoge, Mujhe Kuch Kehna Hai, and Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham, sayig her performances were either repetitive or the caricatures in such films were all-too-familiar.
But a gutsy Kareena showed her back to critics but doing challenging roles, the most prominent being a bidi-smoking sex worker Chameli role opposite Rahul Bose.
Flops have never bothered Bebo as she states in an interview “Flops ka bhi apna Maza Hai” (flops has its own joy). The above films may have stunted the career growth of the lady but Bebo is as carefree as her character in Geet.
Though her off-screen chemistry with Shahid ended up on the sets of ‘Jab We Met' but pairing with the Chhotey Nawab looks more tantalizing and now the countdown for the big event on 18th October this year has already begun.
Will Bebo resume her acting career thereafter or quit, is a 64,000-dollar question for which one will have to wait for. But many are familiar with the fact that Kareena skipped her cousin Riddhima Kapoor's wedding with Bharat Sawhney that took place in Bombay on Wednesday January 25, 2006. Reason remains unknown.
