New Delhi: The New Year 2016 has begun and it has brought in some great surprises with it. But for Bollywood actress Shraddha Kapoor 2016 brings on a hectic schedule.

The actress is currently busy shooting for her upcoming movie ‘Rock On 2' along with Farhan Akhtar. And now Shraddha has been signed in for another much talked about movie.

We are talking about ‘Half Girfriend' which is an adaptation of Chetan Bhagat's novel with the same name and is helmed by Mohit Suri.

But, Shraddha wasn't the first choice for Mohit Suri. Initially, he wanted to cast Deepika Padukone and Katrina Kaif in ‘Half Girlfriend'. However, none of the actresses gave a nod to Suri.

Interestingly, Parineeti Chopra and Kriti Sanon were also rumoured to be approached for the movies. Although there hasn't been an official announcement about finalising the leading lady for ‘Half Girlfriend' but rumours are rife that ‘Aashiqui 2' actress Shraddha Kapoor has bagged the leading role in the movie.

The story of ‘Half Girlfriend' revolves around a boy from Bihar who falls in love with an English speaking uptown, classy and elegant girl.

Reportedly, the movie will hit the floors soon and would be shot at various locations such as Bihar, New Delhi and New York.
