New Delhi: Vishal Bhardwaj finally unveiled the first trailer of his much-awaited film, 'Haider'.
The event was attended by Shahid Kapoor, Shraddha Kapoor, Tabu, K K Menon and other members of cast and crew.
Also present were producer Sidharth Roy Kapur, director Vishal Bhardwaj and his wife Rekha Bhardwaj.
The cast and crew of Haider was present at the trailer launch to speak to the media about the film.
Shraddha and Shahid looked pally and comfortable with each other.
Shahid Kapoor will be essaying the role of an existentialist Haider in Vishal Bhardwaj's adaptation of the Shakespearean tragedy, 'Hamlet'.
Haider is touted to be a bigger success than Bhardwaj's previous masterpieces 'Maqbool' and 'Omkara'.
‘Haider' will feature Shahid in the titular role and Tabu will essay his mother who marries her brother-in-law Kay Kay Menon after his father disappears.
Shraddha will essay his love interest Arshia.
Set in the backdrop of Kashmir turmoil, the film sees Shahid in a different avatar.
The actor is seen portraying multiple shades in his character. It will be interesting to see whether `Haider` will recreate the magic that `Omkara` did earlier.
“Very few filmmakers give you the opportunity to act, which demands from them more than what they are used to giving. Vishal has been that filmmaker. When he calls for you a project, you know that it is not something regular or run-of-the-mill", Shahid said at the trailer launch.
The actor looked very handsome at the event. He wore a white t-shirt paired up with black denim and black blazer.
Shahid was sporting an interesting long chain in his neck.
The cast opted for an all black look except for Shraddha who had a dash of pink on her dress. Clad up in a black dress with print, lace keyhole and belt, Shraddha looked ecstatic.
She teamed her dress with Zara sandals.
Both Shahid Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor were seen giggling, talking and looking into each other's eyes constantly during the launch of Haider.
Tabu too was having a gala time at the event. She looked pretty as always in a black kurta paired up with black salwar.
Haider is slated for release on October 2, this year with along with Hrithik-Katrina starrer Bang Bang.
