Panaji, Jun 26: Goa government is contemplating putting a ban on bouncers (private security guards) used during the film shoots in the state after an alleged attack on a prominent social activist here.

Oscar Rebello, a social activist, was allegedly manhandled by five men who were in charge of the security during the shooting of the film 'Mango' yesterday.
The incident took place at 11.30 AM when Rebello was walking to his clinic.

"The government may ask people shooting films in the state not to deploy bouncers, who behave rudely with the crowd that usually gathers to watch the shooting," Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar told reporters here today.

"We can issue directions to the people seeking permission to shoot, asking them to be humble with the people on road," he said.

The Chief Minister, however, ruled out possibility of banning film shootings in the state. "We cannot ban film shooting for such a small incident," he said.

Four of the five bouncers were arrested till late night byPanaji police, while one is absconding.

'Mango' is being directed by 'Jaane Tu Yaa Jaane Naa' director Abbas Tyrewala and stars Chandan Roy Sanyal, Monali Thakur and Swara Bhaskar among others. It is being made under the banner of Kaleidoscope Entertainment Private Ltd.
