New Delhi, Aug 8: “Gangs of Wasseypur” has made its place in Bollywood and will surely be remembered for the years to come. But, will its second installment be able to summarise the vengeance drama?
The second part is advance than the former one. It contains more curved conversation and numerous intense bloods shot scenes than the first part, but the magic lacks to overtake Manoj's “GOW”.
The revenge saga was concluded with the Sardar Khan, played by Manoj Bajpayee, standing tall instead bullets riddling his flesh. In the second part, the streak of Sardar Khan is over.
Even his eldest son Danish played by Vineet Kumar is knocked out earlier in the second part. Faizal Khan played by Nawazuddin Siddiqui is the only son left and is pervaded by his mother Naghma Khatoon played by Richa Chadda to take revenge.
Faizal takes over his father's authority and now it is not just coal, the mafia is gazing at but they have iron business deal, booth-capturing and other illegal money making modes in their hand. But over that Faizal has one primary motive, which is to demolish criminal-politician Ramadhir Singh, responsible for his father and grandfather's death.
The story is stuffed with new generation technique. Characters are now used to mobiles, automatic rifles and guns and so the mode of slaying any individual is more repelling. Gunning down number of men in seconds is bloodier and difficult to resist.
With the perfect storyline, the Gangs also show how people during those periods were so crazy about Bollywood, as they used to imitate their favourite stars. The tone of conversation, facial expression, and dressing style will take you back to those eras.
In acting department, the person whose individuality stands out is Nawazuddin Siddiqui, who instead of lean body is fearless, and has a unique charisma to make the audience move through his act. Not many of the spectators would have hoped that Faizal Khan would come out with such intensity in the flick. He will surely surprise you with his metal.
Huma qureshi, playing Nawaz's ladylove in the first installment continues to shower her charm in the final part too.
Richa Chadda playing the widow of Sardar Khan turns older but is still commanding as she was in the “GOW”.
The sweet-tongued but corrupt Ramadhir Singh played by Tigmanshu Dhulai is great.
Pankaj Tripathi playing Sultan is confident on his part and is merciless towards anybody. The intensity when he kills his own sister is matchless.
Like movie, the music did surprise everybody in the first part. Musician Sneha Khanwalker again is back with some new lovable melodies. Like ‘Hunter', ‘Womaniya', ‘Bihar Ke lala', in the first installment, Chi Cha Leather` and `Kaala Rey` will mark a its place on your lips.
What is good here about Anurag, the way he utilize the soundtracks in flick's most fierce and violent portions.
Despite of a bit lengthy streaming, “GOW 2” won't make you yawn at any moment. Enter the theatres to witness the climax of an epic drama.
