New Delhi, Sept 24: Bollywood heartthrob Ranbir Kapoor says, he would marry only when he finds the girl he loves.
Asked whether he wanted a love marriage or an arranged one, Kapoor said: "I will prefer a love marriage, and I will arrange my parents to agree to it."
"I have remained a single since long. I am a 28-year-old man. I also want to take girls out to dinner, but I spend most of my time on the sets. Now if I take my co-heroines to dinner, the media splashes it saying I am having an affair. Whenever I don't shoot, I stay at home", said Ranbir.
On his kissing scenes with Priyanka, Nargis and other actresses, Ranbir said: "I do love stories most of the time. Naturally kissing scenes do come up. I don't say 'daalo' (put in) kissing scenes. Moreover, it's too awkward to kiss a girl in front of a hundred people on the sets and that too in front of a camera and lights. It's too mechanical. For me, a kissing scene is just like an action sequence. Normally, I finish off the kissing scene in a single take.'
Kapoor was grilled by Rajat Sharma in India TV's Aap Ki Adalat show about his affairs with his leading heroines. He appeared a bit tense while speaking about ex-flame Deepika Padukone.
"I had a relationship with Deepika. She still continues to be my good friend. But the issue on which our relationship broke is a personal matter. It will be very unfair to the girl if I speak about that, because Deepika is single and may marry someone in future", said Ranbir.
When Rajat Sharma quoted Deepika of having said that Katrina Kaif's passport entries should be checked, Ranbir replied: " Neither am I Katrina's secretary nor am I in Passport control to check her entries. I was in the US to shoot for Anjaana Anjaani. Katrina is such a popular star that she cannot visit the US incognito to meet me.
"I was doing the film in the US with Priyanka Chopra. But when I read magazines linking me with my heroines, I sometimes wish I had such affairs. These are the beautiful women and stars of Indian cinema industry, but it does not mean that I have had affairs with all my heroines."
On Deepika having said in a show that Ranbir is the right person to endorse condoms in India, the star smiled and replied: "I think it's a great thing that she said. If youths of our country use condoms for safe sex, it is something we all should be aware of. OK, I shall try and endorse condoms."
Ranbir outrightly rejected reports that she had an affair with Sonam in his first film Sawariya.
On reports that Salman Khan was furious when he read reports linking him with Katrina Kaif while shooting Rajneeti, he said, 'Salman is a very close friend of my family. He is a good friend of my father. Salman gave me my first haircut in Bollywood through his hair stylist. Reports about my teaching Katrina Hindi are also wrong. Even my Hindi is not upto the mark.'
On Nargis Fakhri, his co-star in his forthcoming film Rockstar, releasing on November 11, Ranbir said, "when Nargis came from the US she didn't know a word in Hindi. We helped her learn Hindi and it goes to her credit that she learnt Hindi well within four months."
Asked why he took Nargis to meet his mother, and not Katrina, Ranbir replied: "Nargis had become close to my mother, as both of them used to go to gym together. Her friendship wit my mom is entirely different from our friendship."
On the superflop that his first film Sawariya was, Ranbir said: "Whatever I am today in the world of acting is because of my director Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Sawariya was not a regretful experience. If I ever get a chance to debut again, I will definitely opt for a film like Sawariya."
On his hit film Wake Up Sid, Ranbir said: "I wanted to break the fixed image about me as a chocolate boy. So I showed courage and tried to break the mould."
Asked whether he wept when films like Anjaani Anjaani flopped, Ranbir replied; 'No. I remain somewhat detached. After working for hundred days for a film, you build some sort of attachment with the film. But I don't cry. I do however feel that I need to achieve more.'
Ranbir explained his role as a Jat boy Janardhan Jakhar in his forthcoming Rockstar, and delivered a dialogue relating to his on-screen affair with his co-heroine Nargis.
"We stayed for nearly three months with a Jat family, slept on cots, milked cows and buffalos, smoked hukkahs to get the real feel", said the actor.
Ranbir Kapoor in Rajat Sharma's Aap Ki Adalat show will be telecast on Saturday (Sept 24) at 10 pm and on Sunday (Sept 25) at 10 am and 10 pm on India TV.
